Remembering Rosco

In the Beginning

It wasn’t a good meeting at first. My sister had just acquired this pup and was picking me up from work. Rosco was so full of energy and enthusiasm, yet in the car ride, he was a nervous wreck. So much so, that he emptied out his bladder onto the front passenger seat. Not the golden shower kind, but a number two. It was disgusting, and it almost reminded me of elephant droppings, because that’s what it literally looked like.

My sister and I had to get the seat looking representable again because no one will want to sit in a seat where they see dog poop stains, right? I mean this wasn’t the best way to win the hearts of your new owners, and definitely not the way to win over anyone else’s for that matter. But there was something special about this pup, something you couldn’t see at first sight.

Rosco was lovable and super sweet. He knew how you felt and would cuddle with you when he knew you weren’t feeling very good. And when you were feeling better, he had enough energy to want to tackle a grizzly bear, not that we’d have let him do that. Still, you couldn’t stay mad at a pup when he had eyes like those. Blue on one side, dark brown in the other.

Living with Rosco

It wasn’t the easiest to live with him. Every time he had to go, he couldn’t wait until he was out the door. But through patience and determination, he learned how to hold it long enough for when he could finally go out. My part of the job taking care of him, was to walk him out, take him to do his thing, help him get to know the area better, and come back refreshed and ready to play.

I remember one time when we lived by a college dormitory, right by the local state university, where I walked him and girls would come up and comment/compliment on how cute he looked. He was a total chick magnet. Me on the other hand, was not so hip. But I also wasn’t walking him to pick up chicks, I was merely doing my part to take care of him as needed.

There was another time when we planned to cook some steak for dinner. I had just unwrapped the steak and set it down onto a plate. I left for a few to go to the bathroom and when I came back? That steak was gone. No where to be found. Rosco was watching the whole time and waited until the most opportune time to make his move. Bad puppy. I never told him that, but I was definitely thinking it. So instead of steak, we had pizza for dinner.

The Final Years

As Rosco aged, so did his energy levels. He couldn’t do things I was used to him doing. At this point I wasn’t even living with him anymore. I had my own family and we lived out of state. Rosco never forgot us though. He loved how much attention he got when we would visit, and yes when I came to visit, I was walking him around again as I did way back in the beginning.

I never got to say goodbye to Rosco. My sister, niece, and mom were there when he finally passed. It was a very sad day because he died in my sister’s arms. I’m not sure how it went for him, but at least he is resting in peace and died around those who loved him.

Today I remember you Rosco, you were a pain at times but you were always a puppy until the end. Goodbye old pal. Maybe we’ll see you again someday.

Booking Passes (revised)

Hello everyone! We hope your January has been a pleasant one as it has been like ours. If not, fret not. We have some news that you’ll be delighted to hear as it applies to our booking passes.

In the beginning of January, we introduced our brand new booking passes, which helped our clients save more with the purchase of these passes. What we did not expect was how much of the pass would be used in one booking. This particularly applies to our Drop In Visits, because that’s the most popular service we offer for our furry feline friends.

Initially, we offered a visit per day as the introductory pass. Since then, our clients have been using the visits twice a day, which at first we thought as the best case scenario being once per day. Lo and behold, you, our clients, found it best to go with visiting twice per day. So we had to adjust our booking passes to cater to your needs.

Now, we offer these visit passes in multiple day packages as well as weekly passes. Please check below for the changes:

  • Three Day Pass – 6 total visits (added package)
  • Five Day Pass – 10 total visits (added package)
  • One Week Pass – 14 total visits (modified for two visits per day)
  • Two Week Pass – 28 total visits (modified for two visits per day)
  • Three Week Pass – 42 total visits (modified for two visits per day)

As you can now see, we have doubled the frequency in visits on the previous passes. The pricing also reflects the changes and we feel we added value by giving them friendlier prices.

So now what? If you previously purchased one of the weekly Visit Passes, we are giving you extra visits to help even out the total visits. One week pass gets a complimentary visit, two week – two complimentary visits, and three week – three complimentary visits. Also, you don’t need to pay the extra cost in pricing as they were purchased prior to these changes.

To App or not to App…

New App coming!!

It has been on debate since we first started venturing on our own as a business, but having an app has always been on our mind. We know the process can be grueling and tedious, but we’re very optimistic in what benefits all of us can gain from having everything centralized into one space.

As technology advances and new companies automatically start out online as a website to app development, older companies are also starting to adapt. In highlight to the trend, we have also decided to progress towards adopting an app to help us integrate all of the systems we’re already using for payments, communication, and (somewhere down the future) payroll.

It’s a very exciting time for us as this also means we will be able to expand at some point?! We’re hopeful at least. Until then, we will keep you updated on the availability of our app as soon as it becomes available to us.

Booking Passes

Hello everyone! Happy New Year and welcome to 2023! We are so thankful and grateful for all of you, whether or not you have used our services, but have given your continued support. We wouldn’t be here without you, so we truly want to express our gratitude by going over some features about our booking packages.

We have had a number of clients ask us how booking packages work and how much can be saved by booking with them. Those are great points to make, so let’s jump into the most frequently asked questions and their corresponding answers, shall we?

1. What are the current available booking package choices?

Here at Petraordinary we call our booking packages as booking passes and currently provide booking passes only for our most popular services listed below:

  • Pet Boarding
  • Drop-in Visits

As more clients use our other services more frequently, booking passes will be made available for those services as well.

2. What are the current choices for each booking pass?

We currently provide booking passes in a series of 1-week, 2-week, and 3-week time periods. Since three weeks was the most at one-time-period for a number of our clients, though uncommon, we decided to make that the biggest choice available, with one week being the most common and an easy choice.

3. What are the various savings values for each booking pass?
  • For a 1-week booking pass, we have given a savings value of approximately 5% of the total cost of a seven day period.
  • For a 2-week booking pass, we have given a savings value of approximately 7.5% of the total cost for a 14 day period.
  • For a 3-week booking pass, we have given a savings value of approximately 10% of the total cost for a 21 day period.
4. How does a booking pass work?

Though each booking pass is catered to a set period, as our client, we find it to be beneficial to offer them to use as a means to save and book at anytime. This means you are not required to use all of the days in one booking, you’re free to break up those days into several bookings of your choice, at your discretion.

5. How do I keep track of my booking pass balance?

We do that for you. Once your booking has completed, we will send you a reminder of your remaining balance through email or via text, or both, whichever you choose to get.

6. How can I purchase a booking pass?

Unfortunately, we do not currently offer passes through our online booking site. Sorry for the inconvenience, but to ensure you, our loyal clients get the best deals, we cannot simply offer them to everyone just yet. We do however, provide free trials and discounts to referrals, as well as bonuses for you, whom referred them.

As of now, we only take booking pass requests through email or text message. We will confirm your request as always and make sure you are notified when it has been processed.

7. Can we combine our bonuses with a booking pass?

Unfortunately, bonuses and passes cannot be combined. The reason for this is because bonuses are a one time usage. For instance, if a bonus of a $10 off for your next booking was given, a pass which was previously purchased cannot be applied to that deal as it has already happened.

8. What if I get a bonus prior to a pass purchase?

Again, we’re sorry for the inconvenience, but we want to make it fair for everyone to get the same deal. Besides, booking passes have savings built into them already.

9. About that bonus?

Yes, yes. It was probably not mentioned before, but we do have a referral program where we offer various discounts for those who do not wish to purchase passes. We call it our Loyalty Program.

Though it is not exclusive to just clients who don’t purchase passes, Loyalty Program clients are the ones that benefit most because of the instant savings on a singular booking.

Bonuses range from $5 to 20 off a single booking, as well as a 1-day complimentary booking of your choosing. All of this to show our appreciation for your continuous support.

10. What if I don’t use the whole balance of a booking pass and I decide to not continue with it?

We understand life has its challenges and sometimes we need to cut off some unnecessary expenses. We are more than willing to refund the remaining balance of the pass, at the rate it was originally purchased.

Online Booking

We have recently become aware of the difficulties of our self booking process done online. After about a month or so of not knowing that our clients were having these problems, we finally heard from a new potential client that she was unable to book a specific service.

Well, today that’s been corrected. Starting now until further notice, all clients, gratefully continuing and thankfully new, are able to book online on their own time, in their own devices. Of course, if you would like us to schedule it for you, we’re more than willing to help create and complete that service request.

There are several ways to book online with us now:

  1. You can visit our booking site directly and view details on our services as well as get some useful contact information.
  2. You can visit our scheduling page directly and schedule your request as soon as you open the link, as well as view our availability.
  3. You can visit us on Facebook and message us from there. Please don’t forget to like, rate us, and or write a review, if you haven’t done so already.
  4. You can follow us on Instagram and book online from there as well as see some of the pets we have recently cared for, along with the creative videos we’ve done for them.
  5. And last but not least, you can contact us here and we should respond soon after you leave a message.

Please note that blocked out days are where we unfortunately cannot fulfill any commitments for any request. We apologize in advance, because we know how much you care for your pet, and how much you know we give our care for them as well. That’s why it’s so hard to turn down requests when we are fully booked.

We have officially launched
